Madani pearls of making intentions

Dear Islamic sisters! While bringing the Bayan towards the end, let’s be privileged with listening to the Sunnahs and manners of intention. First, listen to the two sayings of the Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم:

 ٭ The Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: ‘اِنَّمَا الاَعْمَالُ بِالنِّیَّات’ i.e. Actions are dependant upon intentions. (Sahih Bukhari, vol. 1, pp. 5, Hadees 1)

 ٭ The Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated: ‘نِیَّۃُ الْمُؤْمِنِ خَیْرٌ مِّنْ عَمَلِہٖ’ i.e. Intention of a Muslim is better than his action. (Al-Mu’jam-ul-Kabeer lit-Tabarani, vol. 6, pp. 185, Hadees 5942)

٭ More than one virtuous intention can be made in every permissible action. (Bahar-e-Niyyat, pp. 10)

٭ No reward is granted for any virtuous deed without good intention. (Sawab Berhaanay kay Nuskhay, pp. 3)

٭Virtuous intention in a righteous action means that the heart stays focussed towards the action and that action is being performed for the pleasure of Allah Almighty. (Bahar-e-Niyyat, pp. 10)
