Book Name:Sadqay ki Baharain ma Afzal Sadqaat

Elaborating on this part, ‘to Allah belongs the heritage of the Heavens and the earth altogether’ Sadr-ul-Afaadil ‘Allamah Maulana Sayyid Mufti Muhammad Na’eemuddin Muradabadi رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه has said: You will die and wealth will remain in His possession and you will not get the reward of not spending, and if you spend in the path of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, you will get reward.

(Khazaain-ul-‘Irfan, part 27, Surah Al-Hadeed, Taht-al-Ayah 10)

Similarly, at another place to persuade us to give Sadaqah, it has been stated:

لَنۡ    تَنَا لُو ا   الۡبِرَّ   حَتّٰی  تُنۡفِقُوۡ  ا   مِمَّا   تُحِبُّوۡنَ  ۬ؕ

وَ  مَا  تُنۡفِقُوۡ  ا   مِنۡ    شَیۡ ءٍ    فَاِنَّ   اللّٰہَ    بِہٖ  عَلِیۡمٌ    ﴿۹۲﴾

Test for a blind man, bald headed man and a leper

(Part 4, Surah Aal-e-‘Imran, verse 92)

Commenting on the above-mentioned verse, Sadr-ul-Afaadil ‘Allamah Maulana Sayyid Mufti Muhammad Na’eemuddin Muradabadi عَـلَيْهِ رَحۡمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ الۡـهَادِی has stated: Sayyiduna Ibn ‘Umar رَضِیَ الـلّٰـهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُمَا said, ‘Spending here refers to the general spending of all Sadaqat, regardless of whether they are obligatory or voluntary. It is a saying of Hassan that the possession, which Muslims like, and spend for the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ in His path, is also included in this verse, even if it is only a date. (Sayyiduna) ‘Umar Bin ‘Abdul ‘Azeez (رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه) used to purchase sacks of sugar to give in Sadaqah. He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه was asked, ‘Why don’t you give its value in Sadaqah’? He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه replied, ‘I like sugar; so I want to spend the thing most liked to me in the way of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ.’
