Dear Islamic brothers! From this, the level of Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī’s knowledge can be seen. He mentioned 40 interpretations for just one verse. 29 out of those 40 were not even known to somebody of the calibre of Imam Ibn al-Jawzī  رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه , who was a major Islamic scholar and imam of his time.

Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه wrote masterful works on many sciences, including Quran, Hadith, fiqh, geography, medicine, history, astronomy, mathematics, Arabic lexicology and Arabic syntax. His books number over 300. Many of them are voluminous, spanning several volumes.^[1]

Shaykh Ibn Qudāmah al-Ḥanbalīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه  said:

Imam Ibn al-Jawzī was the leading orator of his time. He penned expert works on a variety of subjects. Alongside his prowess in teaching, he was also a ḥāfiẓ al-ḥadīth (this refers to somebody who has memorized a hundred thousand Aḥādīth along with their chains of transmission).

Despite being one of the leading imams and scholars of his time, Ibn al-Jawzī knew only 11 interpretations of the 40 mentioned by Shaykh ꜤAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī in that gathering. From this, we gain an understanding of the immense knowledge possessed by the Shaykh.
