Namaz Ki Ahmiyat

Book Name:Namaz Ki Ahmiyat

thousands of years for missing only one Salah deliberately, then what severe punishment will one face who misses the whole day’s Salah deliberately, or doesn’t offer them at all?

O devotees of the Messenger! Remember! Even Satan seeks refuge from the one who deliberately misses Salah.

A person was passing through a jungle, with Satan following him. That person did not offer a single Salah throughout the day, until night eventually set in. Satan began running away from that person. Astonished, the person asked Satan the reason for him running away, to which he replied, ‘I only refused to prostrate to Adam عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم once in my entire life and I became accursed, yet you have missed all five Salah today. I fear being entrapped in the same punishment that may descend upon you.’  (Durrat al-Nasihin, pp. 144)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                        صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! We should all try our best to offer all five daily Salah in congregation, in the first row of the masjid with takbeer-i-ula [primary Takbeer]. In order to develop the fear of Allah and build the habit of offering Salah, let us listen to four Hadith in this regard.

1.   Sayyiduna Abu Darda رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ reports, that the Messenger of Allah
صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم once gave him the following advice:

Do not associate partners with Allah Almighty, even if you are torn into pieces and burnt. Do not leave the obligatory Salah deliberately, as the one who misses it deliberately has protection lifted from him. Never drink alcohol, as it is the root of every evil. (Ibn Majah, vol. 4, p. 376, Hadith 4034)

2.   “Whoever abandoned Salah will meet Allah in a state that He will enact His wrath upon him.” (Majma’ al-Zawaid, vol. 2, p. 26, Hadith 632)

3.   “Whoever abandoned Salah decreased his household and wealth.” (Kanz al-‘Ummal, vol. 7, p. 132, Hadith 19085)

4.   “Whoever deliberately abandoned Salah is excluded from the protection of Allah.” (Mu'jam al-Kabir, vol. 12, p. 195, Hadith 13023)
