this, he replied: ‘I saw that the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would continue to smile when conversing.’ (Makarim-ul-Akhlaq-lil-Tabarani, p. 319, Raqm 21)
Let’s listen to a faith enlightening account for encouragement.
In the initial days of Dawat-e-Islami, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, ‘Allamah
Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ came to know that a certain brother was
badmouthing him and he even left offering Salah behind him. One day, he met him
on the road whilst he was with his friend and gave him Salaam, upon which he
turned his face away. However, this snub did not affect him and coming in front
of him, he asked smilingly: ‘You seem very upset brother?’ And then embraced
him and hugged him affectionately. His friend says: ‘After you left, he said:
What an extraordinary individual! He hugged me even though I turned my face
away. When he hugged me, it seemed as though all the malice in the heart had transformed
into love. Hence, If I pledge allegiance (become a Mureed), it will only be to
him!’ Then, according to his promise, he became a disciple of
Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat
دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـهْ and also adorned his face with
a beard. (Infiradi

Gentleness and forgiving others
Dear Islamic brothers! Adopting gentleness and forgiving others is not only a method of increasing love between Muslims, rather it is also a way of softening the hearts of non-Muslims and inclining them towards Islam. Listen to a beautiful account in this regard.
Sayyiduna Maalik Bin Deenar رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه rented a house. Opposite his house was the home of a non-Muslim who would throw dirty water and impurity from his gutter into the house of Sayyiduna Maalik Bin Deenar رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه out of malice and hatred; however, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه would keep silent. Eventually, the non-Muslim himself came one day and said: ‘Do you have any complaint about the dirt that falls from my gutter?’ He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه replied in a very gentle manner: ‘I use a brush to clean the dirt that falls from the gutter.’ He said: ‘You are not angry despite being harmed so much?’ He replied: ‘I do get angry but I swallow it, because Allah Almighty has said:
