He then picked up the pot, gave it to his wife and said: ‘Feed the woman to her fill .’

He then gave food to the person also and said: ‘Come to me tomorrow morning. I shall fulfil your needs.’ When that person went to him in the morning, Sayyiduna ‘Umar Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ fixed an amount for the child and also gave the person some money, etc. (Al-Tabsirah, vol. 1, pp. 420)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Status of Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ

O devotees of companions and Ahl-e-Bayt! You must have heard how Sayyiduna ‘Umar Farooq-e-A’zam رَضِىَ اللهُ عَـنْهُ helped a distressed person and pleased him. Under his supervision, he had fire ignited, put the pot over the fire with his own hands and prepared the food. He then took the food out himself and sent it to the woman through his wife. Just ponder! This is that very Farooq-e-A’zam from whose shadow Satan runs. (Bukhari, vol. 2, pp. 526, Hadees 3683)

   *who was given the glad tidings of Paradise by the blessed tongue of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. (Bukhari, vol. 2, pp. 525, Hadees 3679)

   *for whom the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم prayed: ‘O Allah! Honour Islam through ‘Umar bin Khattab.’(Ibn-e-Majah, vol. 1, pp. 77, Hadees 105)

   *who would stay awake during the night and walk through the streets for the wellbeing of orphans and the helpless

   *according to whose opinion, many verses of the Holy Quran were revealed. (Tareekh-ul-Khulafa, pp. 96)

   *who stated: لَوْ مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ عَلَى شَطِّ الْفُرَاتِ ضَائِعَةً If a goat dies hungry at the bank of river Euphrates, لَظَنَنْتُ اَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالٰی سَائِلِي عَنْهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ then I fear that I will be questioned about it on the Day of Judgement by     Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. (Hilyat-ul-Awliya, vol. 1, pp. 89, Hadees 141)

   *who alone was the ruler of a kingdom that was thousands of miles long.
