*Meeting whilst smiling is also an act of pleasing others. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘You cannot please people through your wealth but your meeting them with good character can make them happy.’(Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 6, pp. 254, Hadees 8054)

   *Removing troubles of another person is also an act of pleasing others. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘Whoever removes a single worry of a Muslim, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will remove one worry of his from the worries of Judgement Day.’(Muslim, pp. 1049, Hadees 2580)

   *Giving loan to the needy is also an act of pleasing others. It is stated in a blessed Hadees: ‘Every loan is a charity.’(Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 3, pp. 284, Hadees 3563)

   *Giving more time to struggling debtors is a good deed, as well as an act of pleasing others. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘Whoever likes that Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ grants him a place in the shade of His throne on the Day when there will be no shade other than it (i.e. Throne), he should give respite to a debtor or forgive his debt.’(Attargheeb Wattarheeb, vol. 2, pp. 24, Hadees 18)

   *Fulfilling needs is also a means of pleasing others. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: ‘As long as a person continues to fulfil the needs of his brother, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will continue to fulfil his needs.’(Mu’jam-uz-Zawa`id, vol. 8, pp. 353, Hadees 13823)

May Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ grant us the taufeeq to continuously please Muslims whilst remaining within the boundaries of Shari’ah. Ameen اٰمِیْن بِجَاہِ النَّبِیِّ الْاَمِیْن صلَّی اللہ علیہ واٰلہٖ وسلَّم

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! It is important to have one thing within you to please devotees of the Holy Prophet, and that is ‘softness’. The importance of softness when wanting to please others can be realised from the fact that pleasing others without softness could result in ‘hurting one’s feelings’. Therefore, it is very important for a person pleasing others to be soft-
