But he has a bad company which becomes an obstacle in the way of having steadfastness in virtuous deeds. Sometimes, the deeds that should be avoided not only destroy a person’s time, but they also deprive him of many virtuous deeds.
An Islamic brother living in Bab-ul-Madinah [Karachi] had a yearning for flying kites. His hobbies were playing video games and playing with marbles. He was committing the evils like poking his nose into everyone’s affairs, quarrelling with people, fighting on trivial matters, etc. He started observing I’tikaf in the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan in the Masjid of his area. During this I’tikaf, he had many good dreams and felt great satisfaction. Afterwards, he was privileged to perform I’tikaf for two more years. Once the Muazzin of his Masjid took him to the global Madani Markaz Faizan-e-Madinah (Bab-ul-Madinah, Karachi) to attend the weekly Sunnah-inspiring Ijtima’. The attraction and luminosity of the preacher’s face captivated him and he associated himself with the Madani environment of Dawat-e-Islami, the Madani movement of devotees of Rasool. اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه, he has also grown a beard to the length of one fist.

Dear Islamic brothers! Some people have the habit of becoming lazy and stingy in giving Sadaqah and charity under the pretext of being poor and start making many complaints if they are asked about their condition. This is the dangerous evil which has also been condemned in the Holy Quran. In Ayah 38 of Surah Muhammad, part 26, it is stated:
