necessary living expenses and of your family etc., or Mustahab act such as Nafl Sadaqat and the Isal-e-Sawab on deaths.

Ruling: Giyarhween, Fatihah, Teejah, Chaleeswan are also included in it as all of them are Nafl Sadaqat. (Khaza`in-ul-‘Irfan, pp. 5)

Dear Islamic brothers! Undoubtedly, very fortunate are the Muslims who pay the Wajib [necessary] rights of their wealth, pay Zakah and Fitrah happily on time, spend their money/wealth on their parents, siblings and children, feed the poor and the destitute on the death of their relatives for their Isal-e-Sawab, establish hospitals with good intentions, spend sincerely on arranging Quran Khuwani, Ijtima’ of Zikr and Na’at and the Sunnah-inspiring Ijtima’aat of devotees of Rasool keeping in mind the rights of common people and take part in the development work and daily expenses of Masajid, Madaris and Jami’aat, etc. Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ will bless them double, or rather more than double by His grace. Let’s make intentions immediately that not only will we give our Madani donations to Dawat-e-Islami for the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, but we will also persuade others to do the same اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه عَزَّوَجَلَّ .

Definition of Sadaqah

Let’s listen to the definition of Sadaqah. Sadaqah means one should give something in the path of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ without the purpose of getting praise from people, but with the intention to attain reward from the blessed court of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. (Kitab-ut-Ta’reefat, pp. 94)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب              صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers! Regarding the above-mentioned definition of Sadaqah it has also been understood that real Sadaqah is the one whose purpose is not show-off, desire for respect and desire for getting praise from people, but rather it should be given only for the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and for the purpose of gaining reward from Him.
