Pious Predecessors’ Hatred towards Backbiting
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِیْنَ وَ الصَّلٰوۃُ وَالسَّلَامُ علٰی سَیِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ ط
اَمَّا بَعْدُ فَاَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰہِ مِنَ الشَّیْطٰنِ الرَّجِیْمِ ط بِسْمِ اللہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّ حِیْم ط
Pious Predecessors’ Hatred towards Backbiting
اَلصَّلٰوۃُ وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا رَسُولَ اللہ وَعَلٰی اٰلِكَ وَ اَصْحٰبِكَ یَا حَبِیْبَ اللہ
اَلصَّلٰوۃُ وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا نَبِیَّ اللہ وَعَلٰی اٰلِكَ وَ اَصْحٰبِكَ یَا نُوْرَ اللہ
نَوَيۡتُ سُنَّتَ الۡاِعۡتِكَافِ
Translation: I have made the intention of Sunnah I’tikaf.
Whenever you enter a Masjid, upon remembering, make the intention of Nafl I’tikaf because as long as you stay in the Masjid you will keep obtaining the reward of Nafl (supererogatory) I’tikaf. In addition, eating and drinking (water etc.) will also become permissible for you in the Masjid.
Excellence of Salat-‘Alan-Nabi صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Shibli Baghdadi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ تَـعَالٰی عَـلَيْه has said: I dreamt about my late neighbour and asked him, ‘مَا فَعَلَ اللّٰهُ بِكَ’ i.e. how did Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ treat you?’ He replied: I faced immense hardships. I was even unable to answer the questions of Munkar Nakeer[1]. I thought in my heart that perhaps I have not died in the state of Iman! Meanwhile I heard a voice, ‘You are being punished for using your tongue unnecessarily in the world.’
Then the angels of torment advanced towards me but meanwhile, an extremely handsome personality wearing sweet perfume appeared between me and the torment. He made me recall the answers to the questions of
