Despite having such greatest manners, the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم would make this Du’a: ‘اَللّٰهُمَّ أَحۡسَنۡتَ خَلۡقِيۡ فَأَحۡسِنۡ خُلُقِيۡ’ Translation: O Allah (عَزَّوَجَلَّ)! You have made my physical appearance beautiful; so make my character also beautiful. (Al-Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal, vol. 2, pp. 66, Hadees 3823)

Good manners

Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ talks about the good manners of His Beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in the Holy Quran due to which the blessed companions رَضِیَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُم would prefer to be in his blessed company and like to act upon his blessed sayings. It is stated in verse 159 of Surah Aal-e-Imran, part 4:

فَبِمَا رَحۡمَۃٍ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ لِنۡتَ لَہُمۡ ۚ وَ لَوۡ کُنۡتَ فَظًّا غَلِیۡظَ الۡقَلۡبِ لَانۡفَضُّوۡا مِنۡ حَوۡلِکَ ۪

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: So what a great mercy it is from Allah that you, are lenient towards them; and if you had been stern and hard hearted (unsympathetic) they would have certainly been uneasy in your company.

It can be judged by this blessed verse that if we mistreat and behave badly towards Islamic brothers, make fun of them and insult them, neither seek their advice nor encourage them, so how can the subordinate Islamic brothers perform the Madani activities with zeal and enthusiasm.

دشمنوں کی آنکھ میں بھی پھول تم            دوستوں کی بھی نظر میں خار ہم

Sayings of Mustafa صَلَّی اللّٰہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہٖ وسلَّم about good manners

1.         Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has sent me to execute good manners and virtuous deeds.

2.         Shouldn’t I tell you the easiest and light worship for the body? That is ‘Silence and good manners.’ (As-Samt li Ibn Abid Dunya, vol. 7, pp. 47 Hadees 27)
