عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم, held onto the covering of the blessed resting place, and supplicated. سُبْحٰنَ اللہ! No sooner had I supplicated than Allah bestowed His grace and removed my distress.[1]
The mediation of the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم proved effective
Dear Islamic brothers! If this is the status of taking Prophet Ibrāhīm عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلاَم as an intermediary, then what would be the status of the Prophet superior to him, the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! If a supplication is made through his means, what immense blessings will be attained!
It is stated in a Hadith: Once, a blind Companion رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ came to the beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and requested, “O Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Please supplicate to Allah that my eyes may be cured.”
[سُبْحٰنَ اللہ! It is evident that the noble Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم believed that undoubtedly, Allah alone listens to supplications; He listens to everyone, but answers the prayers of His beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم more than anyone else!]
As we were saying, the noble Companion of the Prophet رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ requested a supplication. The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم did not merely supplicate for him, but taught him a supplication so that his devoted followers may continue to receive blessings from it until the Day of Judgement. Thus, the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Perform ablution in a good manner, pray two units, then supplicate as follows:
