Book Name:Siddique Akbar Ka Kirdar o Farameen
I was with the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم when I found Abū Bakr رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ also present wearing such clothing that had thorns in the place of buttons. During this time, Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام presented himself and asked, “O Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Why is Abū Bakr wearing such clothing today?” He replied, “O Jibril! He sacrificed all of his wealth upon me before the conquest of Makkah.” Jibril عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام said, “Allah sends salaam upon him and asks if he is pleased with Him or not.”
The final Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Abū Bakr! Allah sends salaam upon you and asks whether you are pleased with Him or not.” Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ replied, “How can I be displeased with my Lord? I am pleased with my generous Lord, I am pleased with my generous Lord, I am pleased with my generous Lord.”[1]
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers, just as this narration shows us the great rank that Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ has in the court of Allah, we also come to know of the passion that he possessed when it came to spending in the way of Allah. No doubt, there are countless virtues for spending in His way.
The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said:
If any Muslim clothes a Muslim when he is unclothed, Allah will clothe him with green garments of Paradise; if any Muslim feeds a Muslim when he is hungry, Allah will feed him with the fruits of Paradise; and if any Muslim gives a Muslim water when he is thirsty, Allah will give him a pure sealed beverage to drink.[2]
