Maa Ki Dua Ka Asar

Book Name:Maa Ki Dua Ka Asar

In relation to the aforementioned verse, Mufti Muhammad Na‘īm Uddīn Murādabādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states:

When parents become weak and have no strength in their limbs, they turn to their children, similar to how their children turned to them when they were powerless. Do not say anything that will make them think they are a burden upon you. Do not complain about them, nor raise your voice when speaking to them. Do not shout at them; speak to them with the utmost respect like a slave speaks to his master. Be soft and humble before them and always show love and affection, for they raised you with love and compassion at your time of need. Do not display stinginess in spending on their needs. In summary, no matter how good one is towards his parents and how much one serves them, the rights of parents can never be fulfilled. This is why a person should ask Allah Almighty to shower his mercy and bounty upon them, saying, “O Lord! My services can never equal their favours upon me. So, have mercy upon them and recompense them for their favours.”

Regarding verse 83 of Surah al-Baqarah, Mufti Na‘īm Uddīn Murādabādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه states:

The ways in which you can treat your parents well are as follows:

1.   Love them from the depths of your heart.

2.   Be respectful and humble when you are with them.

3.   Address them with words of respect.

4.   Strive to please them.

5.   Do not hold back your precious wealth from them.

6.   Act upon their will after they pass away.
