It is stated in Tanbih-ul-Ghafileen: A person came to Sayyiduna Abu Hafs           رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه, a renowned Islamic scholar of “Samarqand”, and said: “My son has beaten me.” Surprised, he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه asked: “Does even son ever beat his father?” He replied: “Yes! This is exactly what happened.” Sayyiduna Abu Hafs رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه asked: “Did you teach him religious knowledge and manners?” He replied: “No”. He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه asked: “Did you teach him the Holy Quran?” He replied: “No”. He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه then asked: “Then what does he do?” He replied: “He does farming.” Sayyiduna Abu Hafs رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه said: “Do you know why he has hit you?” He replied: “No”.

He رَحْمَةُ اللهِ تَعَالٰی عَلَيْه said while reforming him: “May be in the morning, when he was heading towards the fields while riding upon his donkey, then bull would be in front of him and dog behind him. He doesn’t know how to recite the
