The blessed Hadees states: If a man had two valleys of wealth, he would still wish for a third one. For nothing can fill the belly of the son of Aadam except the earth of the grave. (Sahih Muslim, pp. 522, Hadees 1050)
سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه عَزَّوَجَلَّ! Have you observed how beautifully Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has comprehensively guided us in relation to greed that the greed of a human never comes to an end even if he is blessed with the valleys of gold, he would still wish for more. He never feels satisfied because this epidemic has seeped into his veins like blood. Therefore, as the time passes, his greed grows instead of getting less. He then reaches death which brings his life to an end and shatters all his dreams in an instance.
Undoubtedly, whoever possesses the blessing of contentment lives a peaceful life. On the contrary, the one whose heart and mind is dominated by the curse of greed; he often faces the consequence of his greed in this life.
صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد
Dear Islamic brothers! Remember! One will be granted as much sustenance as is destined for him by Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. Therefore, it is useless to have greed for more. As a villager said to his brother reproaching him for his greed, ‘O my brother! You are in search of one thing, whereas one thing is itself in search of you. The thing that is in search of you (i.e. death), you can’t escape it and what you are in search of (i.e. sustenance), you already have it. You might have a mindset that the one who is greedy for the world is granted everything, whereas the one who is disinterested (in the world), remains deprived. (Whereas, this is a very big misunderstanding of yours).
