What Sayyiduna ‘Ali’s love demands

Ameer-ul-Mu`mineen Sayyiduna ‘Ali-ul-Murtada کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم has said: After the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, ‘Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are better than all.’ He added, ‘لَا يَجۡتَمِعُ حُبِّيۡ وَبُغۡضُ اَبِيۡ بَكۡرٍ وَّ عُمَرَ فِيۡ قَلۡبِ مُؤۡمِنٍ Love for me and hatred towards Abu Bakr and Umar cannot gather in the heart of any believer.’ (Al-Mu’jam-ul-Awsat lit-Tabarani, vol. 3 p. 79, Hadees 3920)

سُـبْحٰـنَ الـلّٰــه عَزَّوَجَلَّ! It means that Sayyiduna ‘Ali کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم is stating himself that if anyone claims to love me, he will have to love Shaykhayn-e-Karimayn, otherwise my love will bring no benefit. Shaykh-e-Tareeqat, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, the founder of Dawat-e-Islami, ‘Allamah Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi دَامَـتْ بَـرَكَـاتُـهُـمُ الْـعَـالِـيَـه has very beautifully illustrated the blessed eminence of Sayyiduna ‘Ali کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم in the form of a couplet:

بعدِ خُلَفائے ثَلاثہ سَب صَحابہ سے بڑا

آپ کو رُتبہ مِلا مَولٰی علی مُشکِل کُشا

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب              صَلَّى اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

May Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ enable us to have love and respect and reverence for all great caliphs and blessed companions! Aameen
