A person once humbly asked a question from the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم about good manners, he صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم recited the following Ayah before him:

خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَ اْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَ اَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجٰهِلِیْنَ(۱۹۹)

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: O Beloved Rasool, adopt forgiveness, and command to do good, and turn away from the ignorant ones.

(Part 9, Surah Al-A’raf, Ayah 199)

Sayyiduna ‘Ali-ul-Murtada کَـرَّمَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی وَجۡـھَـهُ الۡـکَـرِیۡم has said: The Beloved Rasool          صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said to me, ‘Should I not guide you about the good manners of the people of the past and the future?’ I humbly replied, ‘Do guide me about it.’ The Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Bestow upon the one who deprives you; forgive the one who oppresses you and establish relations with the one who breaks off relations with you.’ (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 6, pp. 222, Hadees 7956)
