Book Name:Buzurgon Ka Khauf-e-Jahannam Ma Fazail-e-Shab-e-Qadr

Whoever observes Siyam in Ramadan and then six Siyam in Shawwal, it is as if he has observed Siyam for his entire life.

(Sahih Muslim, pp. 592, Hadees 1164)

The one observing Sawm for six days after Eid-ul-Fitr (in Shawwal) has observed Sawm the entire year because whoever brings one good deed will get ten rewards (for it). (Sunan Ibn Majah, vol. 2, pp. 333, Hadees 1715)

Khalil-e-Millat, Shaykh ‘Allamah Maulana Muhammad Khaleel Khan Qaadiri Barakati رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ تَـعَالٰی عَـلَيْه has stated, ‘Though there is no harm if somebody keeps these Siyam consecutively after Eid-ul-Fitr, it is better to keep them separately, i.e. one after Eid-ul-Fitr, then two in every week. If it takes the whole month to have these six Siyam, it seems even more appropriate.’

(Sunni Bihishti Zaywar, pp. 347)

In other words, one can keep six Siyam whenever he wants in the whole month of Shawwal except the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Dear Islamic brothers! In conclusion, I would like to take the opportunity to mention the excellence of Sunnah as well as some Sunan and manners. The Rasool of Rahmah, the Intercessor of the Ummah صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has said, ‘Whoever loves my Sunnah, loves me, and whoever loves me will be with me in Jannah.’ (Ibn ‘Asakir, vol. 9, pp. 343)
