The Beloved Prophet Muhammad صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم is Final Rasool His characteristics are countless no one can completely explain his life, here is a brief biography of this greatest personality of all times.

The Beloved Prophet Muhammad صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was born on the twelfth day of the month ofRabi ul awal, on Monday, in the year of elephants in the great city Makkah. On the night of his birth the palace of Kisra shook and its fourteen columns were collapsed, the grand fire of Persians was extinguished and the water of Lake Sawah was evaporated. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was suckled by Hazrat Halima Sadia رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا , during his stay with Haleema رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا , the event of incision of His chest occurred. His bosom was filled with wisdom and faith and portion for devil was removed. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was also suckled by thoubia, the slave girl of Abu Lahab. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was nursed in the care of Umme Aiman, the slave girl inherited by His father. His father Hazrat Abdullah رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ passed away before His birth and His mother Hazrat Amna رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا passed away when His age was only four years. His grandfather Abdul Muttalib رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ took the duty of his guardianship but he رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ also passed away when He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was at the age of eight years. After the death of his grandfather, his uncle Abu Talib took him in his care.

At the age of forty years He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم announced his Prophethood. Allah عزّوجلّ sent him forth as a Messenger having glad tidings and warnings to all the worlds. Hazrat Jibrail علیہ السّلام came to him in thecave of Hirawith first revelation. When he called the people towards Islam the people of Makkah blockaded him in the valley of Abu Talib with his family for more than three years. When he was came out from the valley he was forty nine years old. His uncle Abu Talib and his wife Hazrat Khadija رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا died in the same year and her death put the feeling of deep grief on him.

He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم went on the night journey to the sky. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم started his journey from Kaaba to Jerusalem and from here to the skies and heaven and above from the heaven. Buraq was his mount during this journey. Thefive prayerswere made obligatory during this journey. At the age of fifty three years He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم migrated towards Madina where He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم lived for his remaining visible life time. During his stay in Madina He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم undertook twenty-five or twenty-seven wars. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم participated in seven wars by himself. Those seven are Badar, Uhad, Khandaq, Bani Qureyzah, Bani Mustalaq, Khayber and Hunayn. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم went to Makkah for Hajj; the major pilgrimage only once in his life time after it became obligatory. Before this major pilgrimage He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم traveled to Makkah for two times.

The Beloved Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had a medium height and broad shoulders. His complexion was fair and white. His hair would reach his earlobes. In his blessed head and beard there were no more than twenty gray hairs. His blessed face was radiant shine like the full moon. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was immensely beautiful. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was full of dignity during his silence and there was an effusion of splendor and awe when he spoke. His appearance was most handsome of all, graceful and elegant. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was most beautiful, pleasant and handsome, his speech was very sweet. His forehead was ample, his eyebrows were long and not joined, his nose was aquiline, straight and thin, his cheeks were soft. His teeth were sparkling and spotless white having a small gap between two front teeth. The Prophethood seal was between his shoulders.

He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had many glorious names such as Muhammad صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم , Ahmed صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم , Hashir صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم and many other great and good names. Allah عزّوجلّ called him by different names in Holy Quran such as Bashir, Nazeer, Munir, Rauf, Rahim and other such names which show hishonor and dignity.

The character of our Beloved Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was the Quran, his anger and pleasure was only for the sake of Allah عزّوجلّ .He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was most brave, most magnanimous and most generous of men and He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم didn’t refuse to anything that was asked of Him. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was most truthful and most righteous in his speech. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was most trustworthy, most courteous with people, most honorable in transactions and upright in the society. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was most bashful and modest. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم accepted invitations from every rich and poor, freeman and slave. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was kindest and most chaste of men, He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم would make room for others to sit.

The Beloved Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم visited the sick, loved the poor, sat with them and attended their funeral. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم was amiable with his neighbor and honored his guests; He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم always used to smile and was cordial with everyone. His food was very simple and sometimes He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم tide stone on his belly, to suppress hunger. The Beloved Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used to wear clothes made of wool and layered shoes. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had a Yemenite cloak with red and white stripes which was his favorite apparel and He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم liked white garments. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used to wear turban and loved perfumes. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used to apply oil on his hair and comb them.

The Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم married Hazrat Khadija رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا and she was his first wife. After that Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم married different women. The most famous is Hazrat Aisha رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا and she was his most beloved wife. He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had three sons and four daughters named as Qasim, Abdullah, Ibrahim, Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Umme kalthum, and Fatima. His sons passed away in infancy while His daughters lived and accepted Islam. All his children were from the womb of Khadija رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا . Only a son named Ibrahim was born to Maria رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا but he passed away as an infant. Hazrat Fatima رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا was only live at the time of His صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم passing away and she رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہا was got married to Hazrat Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ having her sons named Hassan رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ , Hussain رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ and Muhsin رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ . Muhsin رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ passed away in infancy.

The Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had slaves and bond women, among them the most famous are Zaid bin Harith رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ . Ana’s bin Malik رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ was most famous among his servants. Hazrat Abdullah ibn masood رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ and many other free men got an honor to serve Him.

Our Beloved Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم used different animals for riding. Sakb was a horse which He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم rode in Uhad, Dul dul was a mule gifted to him by Muqawqis and it was first mule ridden in Islam. The name of His donkey was Yafur and He صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم had a she camel named as Qaswa which was ridden by Him during Hismigration to Madina. He had nine swords, four lances, a baton, four bow sand and a shield as weapons. The Holy Prophet صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم passed away from this world at the age of sixty three. It was a great shock for Muslims. Muslims prayed at his funeral individually; nobody led the prayer.

May Allah عزّوجلّ grant us the love of His Beloved Last Rasool صلّی اللہ تعالٰی علیہ واٰلہ وسلّم and enable us to follow His Sunnah!
