about their good deeds and intellectual capabilities, and they do not suffice with the knowledge that their Lord is aware of their deeds and will reward them, rather, they are pleased when the people praise them, and do not suffice with the praise they receive from their Lord.

The Nafs is well aware of the fact that when the people become aware that so-and-so person has abandoned the desires of his Nafs, avoids doubtful matters, spends abundantly in the way of Allah Almighty, undertakes great efforts in worship, weeps and sheds tears in the fear of Allah Almighty and devotion for the Prophet, takes part in religious works, works tirelessly for the rectification of people, travels frequently in the Madani Qafilahs, controls his tongue, eyes, and stomach, gives such-and-such amount of Dars from Faizan-e-Madina daily, is punctual in attending Madrassa-tul-Madina (Baalighan), waking others for Fajr and taking part in the area visit for inviting towards righteousness, then they (people) will praise this person abundantly, they will look at him with honour and respect, they will consider meeting him and seeing him a means of fortune and treasure for their hereafter, they will very humbly request him to visit their home or shop, make Du’a for them, drink some tea or accept their invitation for a meal, and they will consider acting upon his advice to contain the goodness of both worlds.

Wherever they see him, they will serve him and greet him with Salam, they will desire to eat and drink his leftovers, they will compete with one another to attain a gift from him or anything that touches his hand, they will kiss the things that he gives, they will kiss his hands and feet, they will address him with titles of ‘Shaykh, O my Master’, etc., in a humble and quiet tone, they will tie their hands, lower their heads and request Du’as from him, they will stand out of respect when he enters a gathering, they will make him sit in a place of honour, they will stand before him with their hands tied, they will not eat before him, they will present gifts and money to him in a humble manner.
