2.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: کُلُّ امْرِئٍ فِیْ ظِلِّ صَدَقَتِہٖ حَتّٰی یُقْضٰی بَیْنَ النَّاسِ ‘Everybody will be under the shade of his Sadaqah (on the Day of Judgement) until decision is made between people’. (Mu’jam Kabeer, vol. 17, pp. 280, Hadees 771)

3.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

اِنَّ الصَّدَقَۃَ لَتُطْفِئُ عَلٰی  اَہْلِہَا حَرَّ الْقُبُوْرِ وَ اِنَّمَا یَسْتَظِلُّ الْمُؤْمِنُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃِ فِیْ ظِلِّ صَدَقَتِہٖ

‘Verily, Sadaqah protects the contributors of Sadaqah from the heat of grave and certainly, a Muslim will be under the shade of his Sadaqah on the Day of Judgement’. (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 3, pp. 212, Hadees 3347)

4.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

اَلصَّلٰوۃُ بُرْھَانٌ وَالصَّوْمُ جُنَّۃٌ   وَالصَّدَقَۃُ   تُطْفِئُ الْخِـطِیْئَۃَ   کَمَا یُطْفِئُ الْمَاءُ النَّارَ                         

‘Salah is a proof (of Iman) and fast is a shield (from sins). Sadaqah wipes out sins as water extinguishes fire’. (Tirmizi, vol. 2, pp. 118, Hadees 614)

5.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated: بَاکِرُوْا بِالصَّدَقَۃِ فَاِنَّ الْبَلَاءَ لَایَتَخَـطَّی الصَّدَقَۃَ ‘Give Sadaqah early in the morning as calamity does not precede charity’. (Shu’ab-ul-Iman, vol. 3, pp. 214, Hadees 3353)

6.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

اِنَّ صَدَقَۃَ الْمُسْلِـمِ تَزِ یْـدُ فِی الْعُمْرِ وَ تَمْنَعُ مِیْتَۃَ السُّوْ ءِوَ یُذْہِبُ اللہُ الْکِبْرَ وَ الْفَخْـرَ

‘Verily, the Sadaqah of a Muslim lengthens the lifespan and repels a bad death. By the blessing of it, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ removes the evil habit of arrogance and boasting from the one who gives Sadaqah’. (Mu’jam Kabeer, vol. 17, pp. 22, Hadees 31)

7.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

اِنَّہَا حِجَابٌ مِّنَ النَّارِ لِمَنِ احْتَسَبَہَا یَبْتَغِیْ بِہَا وَجْہَ اللہِ

‘Whoever gives Sadaqah for the sake of the pleasure of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, that Sadaqah becomes a shield between him and the fire’. (Majma’-uz-Zawaid, vol. 3, pp. 286, Hadees 4617)

8.   The Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم has stated:

اِنّ     الصَّدَ قَۃَ    لَتُطْفِئُ   غَضَبَ الرَّبِّ وَ تَدْ  فَعُ   مِیْتَۃَ   السُّوْ ءِ

‘Verily, Sadaqah extinguishes the wrath of Allah Almighty and prevents a bad death’. (Tirmizi, vol. 2, pp. 146, Hadees 664)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic sisters! We learn from the above-mentioned Ahadees that:

   ٭Sadaqah shuts the doors of evil.

   ٭The person giving Sadaqah will be under the shade of his Sadaqah on the Day of Judgement.

   ٭Sadaqah saves you from the heat of the grave.

   ٭Wipes out sins as water extinguishes fire.

   ٭Prevents evils.

   ٭Is a means of lengthening lifespan.

   ٭Prevents bad death and a bad end.

   ٭Removes the habit of arrogance and boasting.

   ٭Becomes a shield from fire.

   ٭Extinguishes the wrath of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ.

In short, Sadaqah opens many doors of goodness and shuts many doors of evil.
