Sunnahs and manners of wearing ‘Imamah
٭ The length of the Shimlah of the ‘Imamah should be at least four fingers, and at most one arm length (i.e. up to the middle of the back). (Fatawa Razawiyyah, vol. 22, pp. 182) (one arm length is from the tip of the middle finger until the elbow)
٭ Tie the ‘Imamah whilst standing facing the Qiblah.
(Kashf-ul-Iltibas fis-Tihbab-il-Libas lish-Shaykh ‘Abdul Haq Dihlvi, pp. 38)
٭ The Sunnah of the ‘Imamah is that it should not be shorter than 2½ yards in length, nor should it be longer than 6 yards, and it should be tied in a dome-like fashion. (Fatawa Razawiyyah, vol. 22, pp. 186)
٭ According to a medical research, wearing an ‘Imamah is very beneficial for (curing) a headache.
٭ The ‘Imamah supports the brain and improves the memory.
٭ By tying an Imamah, one does not suffer from an intermittent cold and if he does, then its effects are minimal.
٭ The Shimlah of the ‘Imamah protects a person from paralyses of the lower body, because the Shimlah protects the spinal cord against the effect of weather such as winter, summer, etc.
