Importance of Salah
to offer Salah, but we have also been persuaded to do it after mentioning the reward for it in the Holy Quran. Let’s listen to three sayings of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ about it. In Ayah 162 of Surah An-Nisa, part 6 Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has stated:
وَ الْمُقِیْمِیْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَ الْمُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَ الْیَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِؕ-اُولٰٓىٕكَ سَنُؤْتِیْهِمْ اَجْرًا عَظِیْمًا۠(۱۶۲)
Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: And those who establish prayer, give charity, believe in Allah and the Last Day; to them, We shall soon give a great reward.
In Ayah 3 and 4 of Surah Al-Anfaal, part 9 Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has stated:
الَّذِیْنَ یُقِیْمُوْنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَ مِمَّا رَزَقْنٰهُمْ یُنْفِقُوْنَؕ(۳) اُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ حَقًّاؕ-لَهُمْ دَرَجٰتٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَ مَغْفِرَةٌ وَّ رِزْقٌ كَرِیْمٌۚ(۴)
Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: Those who keep the prayer established and spend some in Our path from what We have provided for them. These are true Muslims; for them are ranks with their Lord, and forgiveness and the honourable sustenance.
In Ayah 12 of Surah Al-Ma`idah, part 6 Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ has stated:
وَ قَالَ اللّٰهُ اِنِّیْ مَعَكُمْؕ- لَىٕنْ اَقَمْتُمُ الصَّلٰوةَ وَ اٰتَیْتُمُ الزَّكٰوةَ وَ اٰمَنْتُمْ بِرُسُلِیْ وَ عَزَّرْتُمُوْهُمْ وَ اَقْرَضْتُمُ اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا لَّاُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْكُمْ سَیِّاٰتِكُمْ وَ لَاُدْخِلَنَّكُمْ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِیْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُۚ-
Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: And Allah said, ‘Indeed I am with you; surely, if you keep prayer established and pay Zakah (poor-due), and believe in My
