Similarly, some people, despite committing unlawful and impermissible acts, consider themselves superior to all others. They consider the Muslims of other tribes and professions inferior. They criticize their tribes or occupation, use insulting nicknames for them and dislike any type of relationship with them. They neither invite them nor accept their invitation. Undoubtedly, those who have this type of mentality are extremely mistaken. They have themselves set this criterion for superiority which is not proven by the Glorious Quran and the blessed Ahadees of the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. Instead, the Glorious Quran and the blessed Ahadees forbid people from making fun of Muslims and calling them with bad titles without a Shar’i reason:

ٰۤاَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا یَسْخَرْ قَوْمٌ مِّنْ قَوْمٍ عَسٰۤى اَنْ یَّكُوْنُوْا خَیْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَ لَا نِسَآءٌ مِّنْ نِّسَآءٍ عَسٰۤى اَنْ یَّكُنَّ خَیْرًا مِّنْهُنَّۚ- وَ لَا تَلْمِزُوْۤا اَنْفُسَكُمْ وَ لَا تَنَابَزُوْا بِالْاَلْقَابِؕ-بِئْسَ الِاسْمُ الْفُسُوْقُ بَعْدَ الْاِیْمَانِۚ-وَ مَنْ لَّمْ یَتُبْ فَاُولٰٓىٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوْنَ(۱۱)

Translation from Kanz-ul-Iman: O those who believe! Men must not ridicule other men because the ridiculed may be better than the mockers; nor must the women ridicule other women, because the ridiculed women may be better than the mockers; and do not taunt one another, nor give bad names to each other; how bad it is to be called a transgressor after being a Muslim! And those who do not repent, are oppressors.

(Part 26, Surah Al-Hujurat, Ayah 11)

Regarding the above-mentioned Ayah, it is stated in Tafseer Khaazin that Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah Bin ‘Abbas رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ تَـعَـالٰی عَـنْـهُمَا has said: Sayyiduna Saabit Bin Qays رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ was hard of hearing [i.e. he was unable to hear very well]. When he used to come to attend the blessed gathering of the Holy Nabi       صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, the blessed companions would let him come ahead and sit near the Holy Nabi صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم so that he could listen to the sayings of the Beloved Nabi صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم easily.
