What does ‘Waliyyullah’ mean?

Dear Islamic brothers! Before listening to more parables about the virtues and powers of the Awliya (blessed saints), firstly understand who a ‘Wali’ is? A Wali of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ is that person who attains the closeness of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ by performing Fard (obligatory acts), keeps himself busy in obeying Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ and his heart remains drowned into the Divine awareness, he always remains immersed in the Divine evidences, he always listens to the Divine verses, he always speaks with the glory of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, he always moves by obeying   Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, he always strives to carry out those noble acts which are sources of closeness to Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, he never stops the Zikr of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, he always sees none other than Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ from the spiritual eye of the heart. This noble trait belongs to the saints. When one attains this stage, Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ becomes his helper and supporter. (Siraat-ul-Jinaan, vol. 4, pp. 344)
