صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers, today we shall discuss the beautiful conduct and blessed sayings of he who accompanied the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم in the cave of Thawr, he who is the greatest devotee of the Messenger and the first caliph of the Muslims, Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ.

‘How is my beloved?’

Umm al-Muʾminīn Sayyidatunā ʿĀishah Ṣiddīqah رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا narrates:

In the beginning of Islam, when the number of Companions رَضِی اللہُ عَنْہُمْ اَجْمَعِیْن had grown to 38, Amīr al-Muʾminīn Sayyidunā Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ sought permission from the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم to publicly announce him being Muslim. The Muslims then spread to the surrounding areas of Masjid al-Ḥarām, and each of them began to invite their families to Islam.

Sayyidunā Abū Bakr رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ began inviting people to Islam with the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also present as he did so. When the disbelievers of Makkah saw the Muslims openly inviting towards Islam, they became enraged and began physically attacking them.

Amīr al-Muʾminīn Sayyidunā Abū Bakr رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ was hit to the extent he became unconscious. When his tribe Abū Taym came to know of this, they rushed to his side and took him home. His
