Your arrival brightened the world

Muhammad Hamid Siraaj Madani Attari

There is no doubt that before the advent of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, almost the whole world was lost in the darkness of ignorance. The society in the Arabian Peninsula in particular was in a dire situation. The inhabitants of Arabia were like the representatives of horror and barbarism; the furnace of trouble and turmoil was burning everywhere; the dark clouds of ignorant rituals, idolatry, selfishness and ignorance had enveloped the surroundings.

In such a situation, with the birth of the Noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, such events took place which were glad tidings for the fact that the promise, in which the light of Islam would eradicate the darkness of disbelief, had arrived. The fall of the sky-scraping palace of Kisra and its fourteen towers, the sudden extinguishing of the centuries old fire of Persia, the drying up of the high waters of the Saawah River, and many such astonishing events were a sign that now, a new just system will prevail and the world will see a new beginning. In short, the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم proved his veracity (i.e. truthfulness), nobility and integrity by living in this worst and most turbulent environment; and forty years later, when he صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم proclaimed Prophethood from the peaks of Faraan, a great revolution took place not only in Arabia, but in the whole world. People began to gather in droves under the banner of Islam. The exemplary character of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and the solacing system of Islam had such an impact that its effect are still in front of us today. The Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم introduced true humanity to the people. He صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم showed compassion for of the orphans, slaves, women, children, animals; in short, the entire creation. The enlightened teachings of the Holy Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم put an end to oppression and made the society prosperous with peace and tranquillity.

So those who first worshipped idols and considered them as their gods later abandoned idolatry and came to believe in one God. Those who used to fight for years over trivial matters, after embracing Islam, they left their years-long wars and became ambassadors of peace and security. The people who were the advocates of a tribal caste system, arrogance, and racial pride began to stand equally in the same row after embracing Islam. Those who considered daughters a burden and buried them alive, after embracing Islam, they began to become deserving of paradise by providing for them and giving them the best of upbringings. Those who used to inflict huge miseries on orphans, widows and the helpless and considered it their right to steal their rights, became their protectors and guardians after embracing Islam. Those who enjoyed countless wives did not go beyond four wives after embracing Islam. Those who used to oppress women instead of giving them their rights, after embracing Islam, they became the guardians of the honour and dignity of the women. The people whose women used to adorn the market places and fairs being unveiled, after embracing Islam, the same women became habituated of veiling themselves. Those who used to wail over the dead openly and considered it a noble and a proud deed, after embracing Islam, they began to show exemplary patience. Those who were immersed in deceiving, adulteration and usury, after embracing Islam, their honesty and trustworthiness became acclaimed all around. Those who drank alcohol like water, when alcohol became Haraam, people disposed alcohol in the drains like water. Those who used to proudly eat carrion, after embracing Islam, they began to avoid even what was doubtful. Those who used to be the representatives of ignorance became enlightened by the light of Islam and spread the same light everywhere. This is the revolution that started from Arabia on the arrival of the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and its light spread all over the world. Today, the need of the time is to carry the light of these enlightened teachings of Islam and spread it all over the world once again.
