the Holy Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, ‘Whoever is not merciful to others, will not receive mercy; whoever does not forgive, will not be forgiven.’ (Musnad Imām Aḥmad, vol. 7, pp. 71, Ḥadīš 19264)
